Full-time / Direct hire / Remote USA 
Spok is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join the Telephony team supporting our CTI and Voice Connect platforms. This role will include supporting the current product and enhancing the product software for integration with various PBX technologies and use of interactive voice response (IVR) systems with new features that improve Spok's customer experience. This includes working closely with the Enterprise Product Architect to design and implement common components across the entire Spok suite of products.    
Essential Duties and Responsibilities    
>Work on a full scrum team contributing new code and reviewing pull requests and lead mid-sized software development projects from start to finish balancing work from multiple projects simultaneously.
>Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring development efforts such as progress reports, roadblocks and retrospectives, in order to inform management of current status of each development iteration.
    
>Working with TPMs, coordinates high-level requirements and translates into detailed stories for internal developers or vendors, including user experience and interface.
>Participate in design and development of new features.
>Work with Product Owner to ensure that requirements and acceptance criteria are met.
>Analyze existing solutions to highlight areas for improvements.
>Participating and influencing conversations during team ceremonies; backlog refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

>Provide development support for existing applications in the field.
>Assisting the team with technical documentation of installation and configuration guides.
>Stay current with and anticipate technology evolutions, specifically AI, and its application in the Speech product for Voice-to-text and translation services.
 
    
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
>Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience leading the architecture and technical direction of telephony systems and call centers in the Healthcare systems domain.
    
>Natural language processing experience    
>Advanced experience with Microsoft stack web development (ASP.NET, C#, .NET Core, .NET Framework, SQL Server, Entity Framework, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SignalR, React, Angular)    
>3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python and Shell Scripting.    
>Experience in Agile-based development environment    
>Experience with build pipelining and CI/CD practices    
>Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle    
>Knowledge of telephony technologies, protocols, and standards, such as SIP, VoIP, E.164 Dialplans, QoS, TCP, UDP, RTP, , SIP,  ACD, FreeSwitch, IVR, Speech Recognition & Natural Language Processing as well as IM/Presence.    
>Experience building integrated Contact Center works flow or applications with deep understanding of CTI and Contact Center API’s, Avaya [ClientAPI, DMCC], Cisco [, TAPI, Finesse REST, EMAPI, WxCC REST], Unify [ECMA-323 CSTA], etc.    
    
>Experience with Azure TTS a PLUS!    
>Experience using Nuance Communications tools/features is a plus    
>Experience in the healthcare IT space is a definite PLUS!
