Role Description
Our product suite, known as Canopy, is a transformative clinical operations and population health platform for value-based primary care. Coupling a high-performance tech platform with machine learning-driven analytics, Canopy enables our clinical and service teams to provide excellent care to every single patient. From facilitating the delivery of a visit in our centers to supporting patients that have been admitted to a hospital, there is not a point in the patient journey that Canopy does not touch. At Oak Street Health, you will be influential in the development of innovative products that have an immediate impact on the health and wellbeing of our patients.
As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead the delivery of a new kind of platform for healthcare, one built specifically for the clinical team. From building the team to delivering game-changing products, you will partner with our stellar engineering, product, and design teams in a fast-paced, agile environment to transform ideas into a reality. Utilizing modern methodologies and open source tools, you will be empowered to push the boundaries of development practices, processes & tools to deliver applications that will directly and immediately impact the experience of our teams and our patients. Even though this role is not all hands on coding, you don't shy away from a challenge to help your team to meet their goals.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead & Manage a team of software engineers by helping them to prioritize, build and ship the most impactful features to our clinical teams and patients
Define/Refine processes to improve developer productivity
Build your high performing team through hiring, coaching & mentoring
Collaborate with leaders from Product, UX and Implementation teams on product delivery
Collaborate with Platform team and evangelize architectural & TDD best practices improving scalability, reliability & maintainability
Partner with Technology leadership team to drive Engineering excellence OKRs
Partner with Product Managers to prioritize and drive the technical debt backlog
What we're looking for
We're looking for a professional with:
Event driven experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering building enterprise grade products
Results oriented leader with experience in leading & managing an engineering team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to clearly articulate technical challenges to business stakeholders
Experience working in a distributed, cloud-based environment either in Azure/AWS using Docker/Kubernetes
Must have experience working in an Agile/Devops environment
Familiarity with Healthcare Domain and HIPAA - Preferred
Familiarity with functional and/or reactive programming concepts - Preferred
Familiarity with our Tech Stack â Vue.js, Rx.Net, Cypress.io, .NET core, Azure Devops, Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, gRPC - Preferred
