Reporting to and working with the VP, Engineering, the Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for the Care Connect Reporting and Analytics solution, and driving the future architecture of the Care Connect database, and must be a results-driven, team-oriented, self-motivated software quality professional who combines solid database engineering credentials with emerging technology trends in the industry.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our team and lead database management efforts. This role is responsible for defining data needs, establishing modeling standards, and ensuring data integrity across various systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL architecture, data warehousing, and data integration, along with a deep understanding of database modeling, SQL, and master data management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
>Data Modeling & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex data models to meet business requirements, ensuring high performance and scalability.
>Database Development: Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support business processes and applications.
>ETL Development: Design and implement ETL processes to move and transform data between SQL Server and Oracle databases, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
>Performance Optimization: Utilize SQL Query Analyzer, indexing, and partitioning strategies to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve database performance.
>Reporting Solutions: Create and maintain SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports to deliver accurate, actionable insights.
>Database Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain database security measures in compliance with data governance policies and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA if applicable).
>Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine database maintenance, backups, and other processes for data reliability.
>Capacity Planning and Scaling: Forecast database growth and recommend scaling solutions to meet future demands.
>Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and drive efficient, aligned solutions.
>Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, ETL processes, performance tuning methods, and security protocols.
>Data Warehousing: Design and manage data warehouses and data marts, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of data.
>Master Data Management: Apply master data management principles and processes to maintain consistent and reliable data across platforms.
>Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation on data models, ETL standards, and database structures.
Required Skills and Experience
>Bachelor degree and 7+ years in IT with a focus on Data Management, ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, and Data Integration.
>Technical Skills:
- ETL Tools: Extensive experience with ETL tools like Informatica PowerCenter and IICS. particularly in data migration and integration between SQL Server and Oracle environments.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL coding skills for data profiling, optimization, and implementation.
- Data Modeling: Advanced understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and database design.
- Data Management Principles: Knowledge of master data management, data taxonomies, and data dictionary tools.
- DevOps Familiarity: Exposure to DevOps principles for supporting deployment and integration.
- Familiarity with SSRS for building and maintaining reporting solutions.
>Experience in database security and compliance with data governance policies.
>Solid scripting skills in languages like Python, Shell, or PowerShell for database automation.
>Analytical and Communication Skills: Ability to analyze data requirements and communicate complex data solutions effectively with stakeholders.
>Project Management: Experience managing projects, collaborating across teams, and implementing large-scale data solutions.
