As the team’s Sr. Engineering Manager you will play a critical role in helping that team deliver on the promise of ML, Data Engineering, and Core Services to the entire suite of products at Tempo. You will work directly with our talented engineering, product management, QA, SRE and UI/UX teams. As an engineering manager you will work with the team to manage their priorities, workloads, make trade-off decisions, and ensure that the work is completed in a high quality fashion to deliver a next shippable product increment.

In order to be successful in this position, you will need to have strong communication skills, ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely; fanatical attention to detail; analytical mindset, and strong project and people management skills. What You'll Do - 

  • Leading and managing one or more software development teams. including but not limited to team management, goal setting, monitoring and control, risk analysis and management

  • Mentoring and professional development of the team’s members

  • Coordination of the efforts across multiple teams/sub-teams

  • Process management and continuous improvement 

  • Maintaining high standards of the Company culture


Who You Are - 

  • At least 10 years of experience in Software Development

  • 3+ years managing Software Development teams

  • Proven working experience in managing software development teams

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle

  • Experience of managing and leading Agile projects

  • Strong technical knowledge

  • Technical literacy, broad awareness of the major trends in the IT industry, Attention to detail, responsibility and autonomy

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Curious nature and a drive to solve problems collaboratively

  • Strong Data Science and Machine Learning background


WOULD BE A PLUS -

  • Technical background and understanding of web application architectures

  • Strong Data Science and Machine Learning background

  • Knowledge and experience of using Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) products

  • A proven track record of building teams and optimizing processes
