Job Title: Fullstack Developer (Data-Focused)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Fullstack Developer with strong data engineering experience to join our nearshore team working with a leading US-based client. In this role, you'll help design and develop infrastructure and tooling to support large-scale data platforms, improve self-service capabilities, and contribute to key migration and compliance initiatives.

You’ll be involved in both backend and frontend tasks, with a focus on enabling scalable, secure, and maintainable data access systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services using Java or Scala

• Develop and maintain Spark applications for data processing workflows

• Contribute to frontend enhancements using Bootstrap-based JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks

• Support the migration from data.world to Amplify, ensuring platform health and metadata synchronization

• Work on RBAC (role-based access control) solutions for databases and user interfaces

• Collaborate with teams on data compliance, access control, and operational lineage tools

• Help build self-service infrastructure to empower internal teams (e.g., provisioning storage, managing metadata, dataset retention/deletion)

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java or Scala (must-have)

• Solid understanding of Apache Spark and distributed data processing

• Experience with SQL and modern database technologies

• Familiarity with Bootstrap-based JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React or similar)

• Ability to write clean, scalable, and well-documented code

• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

• Comfortable submitting and discussing a code sample as part of the hiring process

Nice to Have

• Experience with tools like AWS Glue, Athena, Trino, Looker Studio

• Background in data security and compliance

• Familiarity with platform migrations and data governance tooling

• Experience with metadata buses or cataloging systems
