We are now looking for a Head of AI Engineering to lead our engineering organization in Colombia and help define the next chapter of Cadre AI’s growth.
The Role
The Head of AI Engineering is a senior, hands on leader responsible for owning all engineering delivery at Cadre AI. This role blends deep technical expertise, people leadership, and client facing collaboration. You will lead a large, high performing engineering organization while personally setting the technical bar for AI, ML, and data driven systems.
You’ll work closely with clients, executives, product leaders, and internal teams to turn ambitious business goals into scalable, production ready AI solutions while building the processes, platforms, and culture needed to operate at scale.
This role is based in Colombia and is critical to our engineering and company wide success.
What You’ll Do
Engineering Leadership & Execution
- Own all engineering deliverables across Cadre AI, ensuring quality, scalability, and on time execution.
- Lead and manage a large engineering organization, including AI Engineers, ML Engineers, MLOps, and Data Engineers.
- Establish and run Agile/Scrum processes: sprints, backlog grooming, ticketing, and release planning.
- Build a culture of accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
AI & ML Strategy
- Drive transformative change by establishing frameworks that seamlessly integrate generative AI into engineering workflows, dramatically boosting productivity.
- Define and standardize best practices across the AI/ML lifecycle, from experimentation to deployment and monitoring.
- Evaluate AI experiments, document findings, select winning approaches, and roll them out team-wide.
- Architect and oversee a full ML platform, including infrastructure that supports scalability, reliability, and rapid iteration.
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Lead from the front as a hands on subject matter expert, contributing to system architecture and key technical decisions.
- Design and build scalable, end to end machine learning solutions for predictions, recommendations, search, and growth initiatives.
- Oversee model training, optimization, deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Drive data excellence across the organization, ensuring clean pipelines, strong governance, and actionable insights.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
- Act as a senior, client facing technical leader joining calls, shaping solutions, and building trust with stakeholders.
- Partner with product managers, project managers, and business leaders to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps.
- Inform and deliver on ambitious product and platform roadmaps to accelerate company growth.
Team Building & Mentorship
- Hire, coach, and mentor top tier AI first engineers and engineering leaders.
- Establish clear career paths, feedback loops, and performance standards.
- Build and scale the AI function across MLE, MLOps, and Data Engineering.
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience managing large engineering teams
- Deep expertise in AI/ML systems, including generative AI, model training, and production deployment.
- Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and engineering operations.
- Track record of architecting and scaling ML platforms and data infrastructure.
- Comfortable being client-facing and translating complex technical concepts into business value.
Technical Skills
- Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Model Optimization
- MLOps, CI/CD, and ML lifecycle management
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
