Role Overview
This Senior QA Lead is uniquely positioned at the intersection of quality leadership and AI-augmented testing practices. Overseeing quality outcomes for our Home and Pay products, this role is pivotal in ensuring excellence, testability, and sustainable automation practices that keep pace with rapid development cycles. Our goal is to deliver superior quality experiences that position our products as reliable and trustworthy for millions of residents, enabling our teams to ship confidently while maintaining data integrity and workflow continuity. This approach aims to increase the platform's value while reducing technical debt through strategic automation and proactive quality advocacy. Our QA team leverages cutting-edge AI tools daily, and you'll have access to the latest AI platforms and the autonomy to experiment with emerging tools that make you more effective.

It involves active collaboration with engineering, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. This role is instrumental in shaping and executing quality strategies that enhance our testing capabilities, ensuring they not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of our development velocity and create new opportunities for automation innovation and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain quality leadership practices that deliver value for product, engineering, and end users.
- Define quality strategies that enable capabilities to ship reliably and confidently, ensuring AI-generated features are thoroughly tested and validated before reaching customers.
- Use AI-powered testing and automation tools to accelerate test planning, generate comprehensive test scenarios, and create maintainable automation frameworks that evolve with the platform.
- Maintain and rebuild the test automation suites for Home and Pay products, addressing technical debt while establishing sustainable practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality gates and acceptance criteria standards, ensuring they meet product requirements and customer expectations.
- Be the quality advocate for Vantaca's Home and Pay products to engineering, product, and leadership teams.
- Constant contact with product teams, developers, and stakeholders to understand quality needs, challenges, and opportunities.
- Drive success from a data perspective - automation coverage, defect trends, test execution velocity, quality metrics.
- Anticipate and remove obstacles that prevent us from delivering on quality, product, and operational objectives.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams in a matrixed environment to align quality practices to business strategy and business outcomes.
- Mentor other QA Engineers on quality standards, strategic thinking, and best practices.
- Work directly with product and engineering teams to challenge acceptance criteria early in the development cycle and ensure testability considerations are built into requirements.
- Lead quality initiatives through product launches, from planning to execution and post-launch monitoring, using AI tools to rapidly generate test scenarios, analyze code coverage, and synthesize quality feedback from multiple sources.
- Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of quality practices and automation coverage.
- Contribute to the QA team's growth and expertise in modern testing technologies and AI-augmented workflows.
Qualifications
- AI-Native Quality Assurance Experience
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate QA work, from test case generation and automation script development to requirement analysis and documentation.
- Experience building test automation using AI-powered tools to accelerate coverage and validate quality outcomes quickly before significant engineering investment.
- Comfortable leveraging LLMs for test planning, code analysis, and communication, turning complex technical requirements into comprehensive test strategies and vice versa.
- Track record of using AI to enhance personal productivity and team velocity, whether through automated test generation, intelligent bug analysis, or rapid iteration on test approaches.
- Deep understanding of test automation frameworks, quality leadership practices, and sustainable testing approaches, comfortable taking ownership of product quality outcomes.
- Experience with AI/ML platform testing, understanding of how to validate intelligent systems, or knowledge of quality practices for predictive and generative AI applications is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with proven senior-level ability to challenge acceptance criteria and think strategically about quality rather than just execute test cases.
- Demonstrated success in building or rebuilding test automation frameworks from the ground up, with focus on maintainability and sustainability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make pragmatic quality decisions that balance thoroughness with business velocity.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers and partnering with product and development teams.
- Forward-thinking mindset about AI adoption in QA and willingness to experiment with AI-augmented testing workflows.
