Insurity’s Next DevOps Specialist
As part of the DevOps Development team, our DevOps Specialist will help improve and mature our existing build, packaging, and deployment processes along with triage and assist with support issues. They will also collaborate with team members and help pave the way to adopt new processes using a wide variety of tools including Azure DevOps, PowerShell, APIs, Azure - and many more – that deploy to Azure, AWS, internal, and client-hosted platforms.
The DevOps Specialist will focus on helping to identify pain spots in the organization then use their creativity and collaboration skills improve them. We are also a security focused group – it’s important to keep our secrets safe and to teach others how to use the tools to do so. We use Jenkins and Azure DevOps to allow team members to self-service their requests freeing our time up to automate additional items.

What Our DevOps Specialist Will Do
Configuration
- Configure and deploy Insurity applications
- Able to isolate and troubleshoot routine issues, communicate with developers to resolve more difficult issues
- Communicate with internal teams to clearly and quickly resolve issues
Build / Deployment
- Understand software build and packaging process, make modifications and enhance as needed
- Understand the deployment process
- Assist in building and troubleshooting releases
- Modify / improve deployment process and scripts
Administration
- Understand major components of a larger system, their purpose, and how they interact with each other
- Can quickly narrow down points of failure by observing symptoms, offer recommendations and implement the fix
- Understand windows components, their purpose, and basic knowledge of how to use them
Scripting / Languages
- Knowledge of PowerShell or Bash
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Can write accurate, concise and clearly formatted scripts that can easily be read by others
Communication
- Can communicate to all parties of the enterprise regarding build, deployment and overall system status
Who We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 2-4 years in a DevOps/Scripting/Programming role is required
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or other automation software required
- Proficiency with source control systems – Git, TFVC
- Proficiency with pipelines - CI/CD
- Experience with PowerShell or bash, .net
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to think critically, get into the details, and change directions rapidly
- Flexible, open-minded, with a passion for learning new tools
- Able to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
- Excellent ability to handle multiple contending priorities and effectively plan your work accordingly

We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps. Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $65,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
