What You Will Do

• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable, and robust distributed cloud-based systems on AWS.
• Work closely with development teams to integrate cloud services into the broader system architecture.
• Strive for 99.999% uptime SLA for the systems. Respond to application and infrastructure incidents, provide detailed incident reports.
• Work with cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, product management, marketing and market integration.
• Work on many aspects of our stack: Python, Flask, MySQL, Celery, AWS (CDK, ECS/EKS, RDS, Redshift, S3, SQS, SES, etc), Ubuntu, Apache, Redis, Git, Jira
• Perform peer code review, mentor junior developers.
• Stay updated with new AWS services and features, recommending improvements to the existing architecture.
• Implement application monitoring tools and proactively monitor application performance.
• Prioritize and manage development and issue resolution activities.
• Participate in our agile development process - regular team updates, standup meetings, 1-on-1’s.

• 5-10 years of industry experience.
• Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science or demonstrated experience in the software industry.
• Deep experience working with highly-scalable distributed systems in containerized environments. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
• Experience with asynchronous task processing at massive scale.
• Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
• Solid understanding of networking, security and core Internet protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, BGP, and distributed networks).
• Very strong software engineering background and proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, PHP, Ruby.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
