๐Ÿ™Œ Job overview

When it comes to go-to-market, we're focused on making GitBook the go-to docs solution for large companies. This growing segment of our user base has more complex requirements, so we need someone to own the technical piece of these customer conversation.

As a Solutions Engineer, youโ€™ll be the bridge between our customers, sales, and product teams. Leveraging your deep understanding of the GitBook product and customer needs, you will help prospects and existing customers maximize the value from our tool.

โœ๏ธ What you will be doing

  • Be the technical expert for sales and prospects, deeply understanding the GitBook product

  • Joining customer calls to understand the deepest 'why' behind their product needs & requests

  • Distill down feedback and relay customer insights to our product team

  • Onboard customers onto our more technical features (e.g. Git sync, OpenAPI, Adaptive content)

  • Build automation to assist with large scale content migrations

  • Build out custom integrations to unblock customer adoption

  • Identify opportunities for scaling your efforts to our wider customer base via documentation and guides, ensuring clarity on best practices and product capabilities

๐ŸซถYou will be valued for

  • Your product-oriented approach: You are driven by creating value for our users through education. You enjoy diving headfirst into a product and learning the ins and outs through resourcefulness.

  • Your infinite curiosity: You want to understand customer requirements at the deepest level. Instead of taking feedback at face value, you dive deeper to understand the true nature of customer feedback and will always ask for specifics.

  • Your amazing communication: You are comfortable owning a customer call end-to-end. You lead with empathy, but can also toe the line between being a customer advocate and knowing how to set expectations properly.

  • Your beginner's mindset and proactiveness: You're a hustler who takes initiative and doesn't make assumptions that copy-pasting what worked for you in the past will work at GitBook. You actively identify opportunities for improvement and own the implementation from start to finish.

๐Ÿข Your profile

  • 3-5 years experience in client-facing roles, including technical consulting, product demonstrations, and implementation support

  • Strong understanding of OpenAPI specifications, API design principles (including RESTful APIs, Swagger, and OAuth2), GitHub, and common web technologies

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, or similar, with the ability to work on API integrations and custom implementations

  • Deep understanding of GitHub and CI/CD pipelines

  • You are customer-centric and data-driven, think analytically and are able to rightsize your efforts based on customer/business needs

  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively

  • Native English speaker
